Tribute to Clarel Owarish-Radicella

Tribute to Clarel Ginny Cathy Owarish-Radicella,

outstanding educator, an existence transcended to infinity

Clarel Ginny Cathy Owarish-Radicella passed away on July 15, 2011 at the prime of her life.

She studied at the United Nations International School then at Cathedral High School onto

Marymount College where she earned her bachelor degree. Subsequently she completed her master’s

degree and was in the process of completing her Ph.D., when she died.

She worked at the Legal Aide for several years in line with her belief of helping those in need of

justice. She then went to the education sector and took on the challenge of Special Ed. She felt that she

had a calling for this type of education. She encountered health setbacks, first a brain

aneurism. Holy Name (Teaneck), Hackensack University Medical Center, University Medical

Center Newark, Columbia Presbyterian and Pittsburg University Medical School dealt with the

challenges and brought them under control. Then she had to deal with stomach problems and again

Holy Name and Hackensack University Medical Center dealt with the situation before she was

transferred to Villa Marie Claire (Saddle River, NJ) where she passed away in peace.

She donated her organs. Somebody who could not see benefited from her cornea and will now be able

to see. Another person benefited from her heart and will now be able to go on living. Several others

benefited from her arteries and other organs and will now have a better life. Part of her body is being

used for medical research and will help in the effort to find cure for complex medical issues such as brain

aneurism, stomach, pancreatic and intestinal issues.Clarel believed in helping those in need. She

advocated help for Africa and for Haiti. She asked God to give her some of the burden of the sufferings

of people in Africa and Haiti so that the people there would have less to deal with. She felt that she needed

to carry the burdens away from those who were suffering unduly.

She lived life fully and her care freeness and pure appreciation for life will be missed dearly.

Now her existence has undergone a metamorphosis to immortality through the fact that her existence

has been transcended to several others going on and who will pass on the benefit they got from her onto

others to infinity. She hoped that her example would be one for all to follow.
