This web site is aimed at IT practitioners at all levels from junior IT
manager to the CIO and also at IT educators.
The purpose of the web site albeit portal is to enhance our
understanding of web and information hosting technologies from an
analytical perspective. The web and the Internet are
among two of the most important inventions of our time and they are
playing an important role in shaping the society today. The analysis (as
a tool of research) will help us to understand how to keep up first and
also to participate in
shaping the things to come and thus promote web advancement. Since
society relies so much on computer systems, adequate attention has to be
given to information hosting to make the systems as safe and secure as
possible. As of now, most of the information you need are to be found in this
home page which is open-ended. There are few related web pages; they are being developed but they
will be kept few (no overload)
|
There is no lack of information on IT subjects.
In fact, there is too much information facing the IT managers; the
information overload is real. The IT managers are bombarded by
information in emails, newsletters, magazines, newspapers etc. The
purpose of this web site is to provide analytical information and
elements for reflection to guide action as appropriate. |

In the past years we have moved from data processing to information processing
as a main concern and we are progressively moving from information systems
to knowledge systems. Most computer information systems are becoming in
fact knowledge systems, at times intelligence systems with data mining.
Here in this web site, we are going to deal with knowledge systems, intelligence
systems and even venture to wisdom systems. By the way, talking about
knowledge systems, do you what is a knol? Find out the answer.

I tried MS-Visual Studio 2008 and have these thoughts to share: how
often do you get to use something more powerful yet easier or more
convenient to use; this is a case in point. If you have not had time to
try it; please do and it will help you save time. Also you could
download it for free to use for ninety days after which I am sure that
you will be convinced that it is a 'buy', professional version of
course.
Try Visual Studio 2008.

No jobs in business companies; in fact companies are cutting

Most organizations (public and private) host their
information systems as this is the conventional way to go.
However, the use of an external host service provider is worth
exploring; there is not just a cost factor (the result of the
fact that these companies host many information systems and
spread the costs) but also that they tend to move faster with
new and more cost effective technologies; they provide
reliability, scalability; they provide security and fault
tolerance and they do back up in a systematic way, far more
than what is done conventionally. This is an invitation for you
the IT Managers to explore this question; it is worth your time
since these days we all want to get the best value for money. |
